Varun Shandil

Varun was admitted to the Bar in New Zealand in 2001, after studying law at the University of Waikato. Following his admission, Varun moved back home to Fiji where he practised law for 13 years (the last two years as a partner) at one of Fiji’s largest commercial law firms.

In Fiji, Varun advised commercial banks, tourism resort developers, major hotel operators (including most of the resorts on Denarau Island) as well as other multinationals in Fiji’s energy, mining and food industry.

Varun moved to New Zealand in 2014 and practised at another commercial law firm in Auckland for over a year before joining Inder Lynch in February 2016.

At Inder Lynch, Varun practises in most areas of commercial law with a particular emphasis on business law, building and construction law and commercial leases. He regularly advises commercial landlords, developers, builders, private lenders and other businesses.

Varun works with Chris Lynch and is assisted by Melissa Bourke, his Personal Assistant. Varun is fluent in Hindi.
