December 2019

2019 has been a challenging year. There was a noticeable reduction in house transactions during much of that time. Consumer confidence seemed to be down. Nevertheless, our focus has been on continuing to provide a wide range of legal services at affordable prices.

Earlier in the year, we held a series of client presentations on Wills & Enduring Powers of Attorney. These were presented by Paul Maskell, Anne Todd and Jaspreet Tangri. The feed back from clients was very positive. Our clients particularly appreciated our lunchtime presentation.

Our sponsorship of the South Auckland based Northern Stars Netball team was renewed. This year they reached the Premiership Final. Congratulations to the team on such a fantastic result. Winners next year?

In 2019 we have supported a range of community initiatives including financial assistance for the Franklin Arts Festival, the Papakura Senior Rugby team and the Pukekohe Community Patrol.

Chris Lynch has continued in his roles as a member of the Board of Counties Manukau Cricket Association, a Trustee of the Counties Manukau Cricket Foundation, a Trustee of the Lions District Charitable Trust, legal advisor for Lions Northern District and a member of Papakura Lions.

Over more than 40 years our firm has supported our local Citizens Advice Bureaus, with Paul Maskell, Julian Airey, Anne Todd, Jaspreet Tangri, Brad Williams, and Yasmin Dela Cruz currently volunteering.

Maintaining a tradition over the past 13 years, we have again given Inder Lynch Achievement Awards to senior pupils from Manurewa High School, James Cook High School, Alfriston College, Rosehill College, Papakura High School, Pukekohe High School and Tuakau College. This year’s awards now total $14,000. Further details of this year’s recipient can be seen on page 6 of this edition.

Our hope is that 2020 will be much better for all of us. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
